I recieved my "renual parts catalog" and found 2 gauges I would like to replace. The book has a tendancy to say cat. for either Caterpillar or catalog number.

Do any of these part numbers sound normal

Lube Oil

receiver unit cat. 6729122p1
sending unit cat. 6729122p2

Water Temp.

Receiver unit cat.6729121p1
Sending unit, cat.6729121p2

Sound familar? I look at a unit with modern gauges but the 72v system is always a factor.

Those don't look like any Cat numbers I've seen....more likely catalog numbers as you say.

We have a 1947 loco with 2-D17000 engines w/documentation.
The numbers that you quoted are indeed Caterpillar numbers.
Have you been able to find the oil pressure gauges??

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
