Went to Cat to get a roll of cable, only to find out they don't offer it any more.
Can someone tell me the correct cable to use in a 127 live unit on a D7E 47A?
Does anyone know a place to purchase cable or order it online that's not foreign
made junk? Thank you.

Hi, Farmerfred.
All Cat CCUs use 1/2" wire rope and I think it is supposed to be Lang's lay rope with a rope core.

I am open to correction on this.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

You need 1/2 diameter 6x9 right lang lay, IWRC (Independent wire rope core), Improved Plow Steel Type. You can get way with most 1/2 cable that is right lang lay and not rotation resistant. You can tell the two apart by the first number, the 6 is smaller than the 9, it will work for multi part reeving. If you get a rotation resistant cable, say a 19x7, it is not meant for multi part reeving (hence the resistance to rotation) and can open up when used in multi part application. Those numbers mean how many bundles of how many strands of wire form the cable. If you have a crane rental company in your area you can inquire about cable with them, they will likely have a good source. Or google.

Any construction rigging supply will be able to help you out. Olson Chain and Cable comes to mind in my area. A goggle should turn up a few suppliers.

Most any good rigging supply house should have choice of foreign or domestic cable.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
