just wondering on the finesse part of cornerbits?    should they be almost identical? as close as possible? how much do they affect steering and direction?

-digging hard dry clay, it seems to dig in (soft spot, wet) and turn one way most of the time, annoying as hell....carving out a divot instead of a full blade to the spill, or less anyway...
-maybe a weaker steering clutch? but tracks seems to keep power and spinning?
-or adjustment possibly?  blade tends to hang lower to same side...

"blade tends to hang lower to same side..." - that might be your problem. I'm no expert but I've used a couple of machines with tilt and was able to steer the tractor quite well just using the tilt (no steering clutch or brake input). Those tractors also had very sloppy pins so flopped around a lot

looks like i've answered my own question
-yes the pins are loose and lots of flopping around
-looks like another winter project, tightening pins and stabilizing the blade

-thanks Rome, wonder if i'm qualified to be a judge in that competition, she has my vote..
