Ok,
so Before I show you the D2 and begin tearing into it (Uh, I mean work on it) is there anything I should be careful of in presure washing it?

My D6 worked in MUCH drier climates so everything that was on it dried up and blew off. My little critter was less lucky in it's enviornement prior to my purchase.

Anything I should NOT spray at any cost or is everything free game on that.

Aside from the usual diesel leaking or oils elaks what else should I look for and my plan was to start it up afterward to dry it out. Will that be ok? It is still rather wet in my area (so much for summer) so leaving it outside is not really an option (until july 5th LOL... doesn't usually stop raining cnsistently until then) 😊 )...

Thanks

Tom

It's my preference to try not to spray the radiator cores with high pressure water, and be careful not to spray up into the air cleaner ports. A leaking shifter boot may let some water in too.

Besides what Toby said, the only places not to spray are directly at the seal areas of bearings or directly at the mag. Doing so will tend to force water past the seals and into the bearings, and there's the possibility of getting water into the mag. I spray Crud Cutter on with a spray bottle first, let that sit for a while and then use the pressure washer, and repeat if needed on really greasy/dirty areas. After I'm done I usually start the critter and let it run for an hour or so.

I know what you mean about the rain. .we've had the rainiest Spring/Summer so far that I can remember since I moved here 16 years ago.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
