Classic "Block C" logo turns 50 this year

Just wondering if anyone is aware but the first and most famous (IMO) Caterpillar logo, the "Block C" or pacman style logo celebrates 50 years this coming September.

I hope Caterpillar really get in and mark this milestone with many celebrations and a new line of merchandise to commemerate it. I think it would be pretty cool if some of the product groups made some special paint scheme machines flipping back to just yellow all over and the block C style decals.

I have information saying it was Sept 1 the day it was officially adopted but also another article saying Sept 15, fair to say Sept is the month either way.

I would think a good 2 page (or more) article could be done in the magazine as ACMOC,s celebration of it, what do you think??
