Hello all,

New to the forum but have been visiting it for awhile for research. My brother and I just picked up a caterpillar 30. We have other machinery (tractors, Deere 420c dozer, etc). Never owned a old cat. We are looking for information and some advice on it anything you could share about them would be helpful. It runs and drives and steers. It has a rear PTO. It came with a blade. Hydraulic PTO pump. It currently not on it.

I can't find the serial tag, where is it located? Any idea on year?

Anyone know how many thirty were made? Is it rarer then other models?

Are parts available for it?

We are considering painting and and showing and giving it the love it needs.

Thank you,

congratulations a running driving thirty is a plus just a few observations rare is questionable they made a lot of thirty's yours just looking at the manifold and small track adjuster springs i would say before 1928 probably a '26 or '27 the seriel number plate is where the left rear fender is cut off it looks like someone tried to make a snowplow tractor out of it there was a hood option for winter work the fuel tank would have been round and on top of the left fender most likely but any way you have a nice running unit and have many options for how you want to go about restoration

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
