Off hand the only one I,d know of is the dealer sales dept. and the dealer salesmen so if your in the process of buying or selling something they might help but on older antique equip. I doubt if they,d have much on that.

David, prices on the Caterpillar items that most of us collect are too variable, and there is no price guide so far as I know. The prices depend to a large extent on condition, location, and rarity. If you have something in mind, perhaps you could post here and let us know what you are interested in. If you have already found an item and are looking for advice, you'd have to post the photo here with particulars so that we might chew it over. GWH

The" Antique American Tractor and Crawler Value Guide" by Terry Dean & Larry L. Swenson is the only one I have seen. It has a crawler section that includes Cat and Cletrac. It should get you in the ballpark.

If you buy it, get the second edition book printed in 2006. They have a 1 through 5 range on condition. A "1 " is a mostly complete tractor needing a total restoration and a "5" is a restored tractor.

A couple examples of their pricing below, so you can judge for yourself:

Cat PV-15 condition "1"- $1000.00 - condition "5"- $5500.00

Cat 7C-15 condition"1"- $3500.00 - condition "5" -$14,000.00

Cat 22 condition "1"- $500.00 - condition "5"- $5750.00

To me the PV-15 seems low for a restored tractor. The other two examples look about right to me. I'm sure someone will have different opinion. However prices vary widely depending upon the area of the country.

You can buy it on Amazon.

For those who may be interested in acquiring a copy of the Antique American Tractor and Crawler Value Guide by Terry Dean, you can find it at www.bookfinder.com, and the 2nd edition as recommended above is found for about $15.00 at overstock.com. I hope this helps somone. GWH
