Uncommon for Schramm to use Caterpillar engine. Normally would use their own or International.

What model engine is that, Brian? Being a 6-cyl, I'd imagine the same engine as would be in a 1H or 2U

I think for size of compressor it would be a D11000. Same as Diesel 75 tractor. Based on pony carburetor it would be equivalent to late D75 2E888 to 1087 (1935). If it were a D13000 it would be equivalent to RD8 1H1 to 602 (1935- early 1936)

There is/was a Caterpillar powered air compressor for sale near me, listed either CL or FBM I cannot remember where exactly, but I believe it was owned by the old Bihlman Rock folks near Live Oak,CA. Just in case someone has the itch to buy one. JM

There's a complete one at the pioneer museum in Libby Montana. Pretty impressive when you're standing next to it. I believe it came from the Hungry Horse dam
