Just curious but anyone have a list of model designation/size grouping with production start and finish dates for all the older dozers?I feel like it would be something handy for us younger fellas who weren't around running theys thing, and an opportunity to learn from the fella's with experience,(Example) D6 9U production started, 19xx ended 19bb Was replaced by (such n such) and so on,Thanks in advance, picture of my D6-9U as tribute to the old heads who ran em brand new.

Hi, durtrivertruckingcompany.
I think pretty much all of that information is in the Technical library, which can be accessed with a current membership of ACMOC - which, if my understanding is correct, needs to be done through membership of one of the chapters. No doubt, somebody will correct me if I am wrong.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

If you go to the “Machine Landing Pages” you will find the following which may help you.
There are two slides In the Family Tree page which I have used in talks on Caterpillar.

At one time I had a "Production Handbook" from Caterpillar from the 1980's. It had a very good section on previous models, that started with the RD models (1935?, on to what was current at the time of printing ). Had serial numbers, years of production, and horsepower increases note, as well as the speed in each gear. I loaned it out to never see it again.

Are there Production Handbooks in the library?

Ok after looking in for sale and seeing Performance Handbooks for sale, has my memory got it wrong AGAIN?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
