Hey guys, I am trying to save this old D7 Cat from the scrap yard. She’s been sitting for 20 years. Looking for what year and model it acutely is. Any help and in out would be cool.

Looks to be a D7 3T from here. Serial numbers should be on the left side behind the starting engine, or lower left rear of the winch.

Get the serial #s, and then someone can provide you with the build year. Happy recoveries to you. JM

Hi, HendrixWrench.

If that is the serial number on the engine, that machine has had an engine swap at one time a long time ago. That is NOT a D7 machine number - looks more like a power unit number- as borne out by the "Power Unit Number" on the top of the tag.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Should be the same type tag on the left rear of the machine. On the main case just below the fuel tank. Or the 2 hole from the rivets that held it up there. As I don't see a rear cable unit to cover it. If the tag is gone clean paint it was stamped in as well.

Thanks guys, I’ll cut some more brush back when I go back out to get more numbers. Guy is trying to find the carb and the distributor/magneto.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
