caterpillar d4 magneto

i purchased a caterpillar d4 from the original owner app 20 years ago and parked it in a shed because the magneto had been removed from it and did not have time to mess with it at the time. the tractor part number is 7u24665sp which is a 1953 year. the number on the mag is a caterpillar P/N 9y-3555 with a ser no of CK there is also another number 7w0094 on it also. does anyone know if this is the original mag that came with the dozer, the owner had died and the family did not know much about it except that he removed the mag because it did not work. the mag looks new. the machine hour meter says it has 0217.8 hours but do not know if this is correct. is there anywhere that still works on these magnetos? i pull started it when i bought it 20 some years ago and then parked it. would like to get it running again. thanks for any help. richard argonia kansas

Call Silver Star Industries in Camas Washington. 360-837-3685. I have had several mags rebuilt or repaired by them and they are fast and reasonable. Email Jim Barret <[email protected]> There are several different mags that will work on a D4 pony motor.
