Hi, I am in Australia. I've just joined the forum because I love old machinery. We have a Caterpillar Grader that was in an old shed on our cane farm until a Cyclone blew the shed away 20 years ago. Since then it has been sitting out in the weather, allthough its relatively good shape.
I am thinking about restoring the grader, but I can't seem to find too much information on it. It has a Power Kerosene engine, the serial number is 6h36 and it has a single drive. The engine was running when parked up, but its now seized.
If anyone knows what model grader it is, and what year I would appreciate it, Thanks, Eugene.

hello Eugene ,your grader number is from the engine making it fitted to a 10 atuo patrol .
some info - No 10 atuo patrol ,max hp=44 ,rpm=1400 ,No cly's=4 ,bore=4.25 ,
stroke=5.5 .
Being a low number i would say it was biult in 1933 (maybe),graders are hard to date
i will post some other info about your grader,post some pic if have any .i would like to see it ,hope the info helps,bruce oz

There probably is a grader number on the frame of the grader that would help date it. Not sure if we can nail down the year even then.

The earliest listing by year, which I have, is the K series #10 and #11 Autopatrols from 1938-1941

Have fun! Post pics!
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

I show a 6H engine to be found in a 9F series chassis of 1936-1938 vintage.
Engine is a 4400G (same as a "30" (6G))

Hi Eugene, Your grader is interesting, I just this week came onto a single drive 212 out west. has D2 motor, engine serial no 5E5960, made by Wacka and Jacka Brisbane. I know of another one similar but do not know s/n NO. Presume you are up North Qld I am basically CQ . Hope to get it one day . Brought home an R2 that needs a lot of work , has done no work at all , undercarrige like new , but had an engine failure many moons ago and now many bits missing . Like to catch up sometime . Lance

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
