But for painting its the best to take it " a part " .
And when G-B take's it a part there is no nuts ore bold left in the chassis !

Wow, Ad! it really did not look to bad before he started so to go down to this level it will come up beautiful no doubt.
A couple of suggestions, this looks like a 78J s/n machine and very original, take many pics and note the dimensions of where all the decals are on the current machine before it is blasted. The other would be most likely she would be better suited with the L5 tyres on the front when it goes back together.

If you need a hand with any information let me know and keep us updated.

p.s There was a very nice 950 at Conexpo in the ACMOC display but i bet Gilberts will come up even nicer.

Agree with Gavin, it looked better than most of it's vintage do these days in the "before" pics (I think you meant 76J). For mine, the Cat loaders of that era beat anything else hands down to operate, and the 966C topped the list.
