The older Hardy Harvesters and bank out wagons used the 3160. As what the differences were, I do not know, but to me they were just an early 3208. Everything performed the same; I always hear about how the sleeveless engines were not the greatest, but then again, coffee shop talk repeating itself about V model Detroits and Cummins being junk too!
Are you planning on buying something with one in it, or re-powering something?
I believe there are a few books here for that application, should you need any. JM
I did not know that motor is sleeveless. Use diesel motor 3160 for generator.
Those motors are a parent block motor and they can be bored for .020 and .040 over pistons.
If you are desperate for a block they can be sleeved to rebuild them back to std. bore.
If you have a serial number can tell which motor you have.
Bob.
