The first thing you need to do is have a trigger wheel made that fits your crank pulley. If you look closer in the video you will see mine spinning on the front pulley on the engine side of the pulley. You can see it because it is shinier than the rest of the pulley. The Trigger wheel has 36 teeth counting a missing tooth, so you have one tooth every 10 degrees. I had a custom trigger wheel made by Miller’s Mule in Texas. I sent them my pulley; so they could custom make me a trigger wheel. They did a great job. They machined an inset on the trigger wheel ring so it self centers on the pulley, and they also machined slots on the trigger wheel ring so that it is adjustable. They drilled and tapped holes to fasten the trigger wheel onto the pulley with Allen head machine screws.

Then all you need is a Ford EDIS ( Electronic Distributorless Ignition System) module, coil pack, and trigger wheel sensor. They make them for 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engines EDIS4, EDIS6, EDIS8.
The modules are made to run engines at ten degrees BTDC as a default, so if an automobile’s computer quit the engine would still run. My cat is running at present at the ten degrees BTDC. I may buy the computer that is designed to work with the Ford EDIS system. The computer is called Megajolt Advance controller. To use the Megajolt controller you need to install a MAP (Manifold Pressure Sensor) or a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) Miller’s Mule has the best price on the MegaJolt controller. There is also a MegaSquirt controller available on the net if you want to add fuel injection.
Under EDIS Parts on the Miller’s Mule website they have all the parts you need to make the conversion. Also you can search Ford EDIS on Ebay and find lots of used parts. When you search for EDIS parts on Ebay, you will likely see listings for used EDIS parts by a fellow in Washington State who sells EDIS parts specifically for people doing conversions.
Here are some links to websites that explain all about the EDIS system and how it works:

Holley also makes an EDIS:

I forgot to mention one small drawback. The EDIS module and its sensor count the teeth on the trigger wheel. This poses a slight problem when starting the engine with a hand crank. When you crank the engine and it is not a full revolution of the crank, and the module has not yet found the position of the crank based on the missing tooth. The crankshaft of the engine can, and usually does, roll slightly backwards at the end of a crank pull from piston compression. I think this may cause the module to lose its place, since it counts the teeth based on the missing tooth. So what I do to get it started, after it has already been primed with the choke, is to crank it twice slowly being careful to not let the engine roll backwards at the end of the crank pull, then on the third crank pull it starts to fire and run.
im still kind of lost:/
why did you send your pulley in for the trigger wheel whats the purpose of the trigger wheel??? what was the total cost of the whole conversion???
The triger wheel is how the crank shaft position is sensed, good info--thanks for posting
It’s best to have a machine shop mount the trigger wheel for accuracy and to make one that fits the diameter of your pulley.
It cost $160-$170 dollars to have the trigger wheel made and mounted. Look on the Miller’s Mule website for pricing your needs. You can also email them.
I have $160 plus some shipping for my trigger wheel plus $75.00 plus some shipping for my control module and coil and connectors bought used on Ebay. I have about $235 plus dollars into the project so far. If I buy a Megajolt Controller to advance the timing, I will have $414 dollars plus into it. You may be able to find a junk car with a Ford EDIS in a junkyard and get some parts for less. Also, I have seen what I bought on Ebay go for as little as $45.00.
Read the info at the links I already posted and it should all come together for you.

sorry my computer didn't show the links and now it does... stinking virus blocker lol... im def going to look into it for my 22 and possibly my jeep pickup😊
wow i just read through all of those links, it sounds very easy to do... it may happen to our 76 datsun b210 as well!
