You may have read my thread in for sale/wanted as I am looking for a radiator core for a Cat 60, but if you haven't here is a little history. My grandfather passed away 12 years ago this coming April and I now have the priviledge to work on his old Cats.

Today after several attempts I was able, with the help of my wife driving the truck, to pull start the Cat 20 after about 13 years of sitting outside. Now it starts with a few pulls on the crank.

I am so thrilled that it runs and so well, especially after so long 😄. I plan to post a video on youtube but for now here are a couple pics!

You may notice in the pics all of the water on the ground, as the lower radiator tank is cracked.

For Me its a big thrill to hear a machine run that has been idle for a long time.

I am sure it would have put a smile on your grandfathers face.

Hunter, that has to be the most work I have seen you do in a long time. How long did you drive it for? I still need to come by and look your tractors. Do you have a place out there to shoot squirels? I am hoping to get a 17 HMR Savage soon and need to find somewhere to go have some fun.

If this has the ensign carb on like ours ,push down on the button on top tll gas runs out of carb, then quarter it over. it should start easily and is easier than the priming cups. good luck Gene

Karl,
I almost broke a sweat! ha ha! Nowhere to shoot squirrels over here, not the best time a year for it anyway. Get your 17 and I will see what I can do.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
