i'm jealous! I would like to find a project in that shape to start! Looks like you have a good grip on methods and mechanics. I put my R2 right on the table, saves the back.

Keep the pics coming, I am eager to follow your progress.

I had a couple issues with bearings right off so that was the reason for complete disassembly. I have found most of the bearings/cups but a couple are being tough to come by.
The yoke was damaged on the main clutch but I found a NOS one along with having shafts made. Works as it should now.

Have a good day.......Bill

"Thanks" for the kind words guys. I always try hard to do a good job but without the input from a lot here on the BB and others supplying much needed parts it would surely be difficult.

My progress has been a bit slow lately...……...I was suppose to cut back on my work load to have more time doing projects like this but that hasn't panned out so well. Here is some of what I have done so far...…………

I pulled the transmission apart as three of the bearings were needing replacing. While I had it apart it was cleaned, gears deburred , polished a bit. After assembly a coat of primer and a first coat of paint.

I also pulled the oil pan off the engine in order to check the bearings and clean it out. Everything looked good as bearings seem to all be tight and end play was fine. Oil pump screens need attention and tomorrow the pan will get steam cleaned.

I like to read between the lines and look beyond what is being photographed. That tells the real story. I see a guy with a shop that is obviously cleaned twice a week by a French maid. BTW, Happy Birthday a few days after the fact.

Nice progress there "old guy." 😉
