The block is out of a late 1925 or very early 1926. Flywheel, manifolds and other parts 1928 or later. It is very common to have mixed eras on 60's as owners did whatever they could to keep them going.

That is the engine number AND NOT the tractor number. Big difference. The block is out of a Best/Cat transition machine.

I should have mentioned that the manifold is not original, built that. I have a diesel fifty that has had the "diesel fifty" ground off the rad tank and D7 badges riveted onto the rad sides. Been told that dealers did this with new machines that didn't sell to make them look like the current model. It too has all the brass tags removed.
Is it possible this sixty is a Best with a Cat rad installed?

Thanks for the input so far guys!!

I don't believe so. I think the engine number is probably a few hundred after the end of the big crank shaft Best 60 machines. The only difference between I recall (doing this from memory) the big crank Best 60 starting at 2201A and the first San Leandro Cat 60's is the tags. Most had Best radiators and side plates.

Haha, yes the price of gas is helping but still to high compared to the price of oil
