i know my friend that has a sixty bored out to 6 3/4. i can ask him what he started with as he worked it hard for over 6 years with it bore out he also bumped up the compression too. when we tested it this summer it pulled 92HP on the belt.

Do you happen to know will any casting # jug work to bore out to the 6.75 or is it a certain casting?

Thanks for the info Jeremy
I thought I had heard that you could get the 6.75 bore from the factory but I wasn't sure if it was a special casting or you just take any jug and bore it out
Thanks again for the info
So I just took a look at my jugs they are casting 14A does a parts book show if that is originally a 6.5 inch bore?
The parts books show the cyl. jugs as an assembly number 2475A which includes the head studs. Castings with 14A on them were all 6.5 inch bores. Jugs casting numbers starting 35xx are all 6.75 inch bore that were produced by cat after the 60 production stopped. If you go to the big bore pistons will also have to be located. I have used big bore as well as had 14A jugs re- sleeved standard. The wide rings used on the 60's can often be obtained from hydraulic shops at a reasonable price. Good Luck
Thanks Russell and everyone else for the good info, I hadn't thought about checking with the hydraulic company's. I will check a few local hydraulic places and see what they might come up with could be cheaper than otto now I need to finish cleaning up my jugs and pistons to see what I will need for sure, so far it is looking like I will need at least one 6.75 jug or I might look for four 6.5 jugs and bore them out to fit my pistons. Thanks again for all the great info
OTTO is a good source for rings he has helped me several times a great CAT collector and a very nice and helpful person chuck
