Maybe depends on how picky you are: I have bought rustoleum CAT yellow through Amazon by the gallon.
I thin it with acetone and add some hardner from tractor supply. Good results.

It will be a couple of days before I can get the number of the rustoleum paint, but I will post it.

Side note, the instructions said to thin with mineral spirits, and did not specify any hardener. I tried this on some small parts and it seemed like it took a week to dry. Eventually I called rustoleum and they said to thin it with acetone. I told them the can said thin with mineral spirits and he said, "oh, that's the wrong information, thin it with acetone".

Second on the acetone, whatever rustoleum I was using didn't have any thinning recommendation, called the product adviser & they said acetone. I have used MEK, not sure which one has the higher evaporation. Also used harder, don't know if it helped, didn't seem to hurt. I'm sure the product wasn't designed to use any.

TogNot: that's a "slick" looking d2(pun intended). I've never seen a J with DE. Nice. JM

The Rustoleum "Old Cat Yellow" in gallons is a #7449402. In 12 oz rattle can it's #7449830
You can use paint thinner but it makes drying very slow and voids the low VOC designation and has been replaced by Acetone. It is an alkyd enamel, good rust control by tends to fade.
Here is the thinner options list...

Solvent for Alkyd Enamel (Rustoleum)
Fast dry…..Acetone, Naptha
Medium….Toluene
Slow….Xylene
Very Slow…..Paint Thinner (Stoddard Solvent)

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
