The RC2Q and RT2Q are going to be a lot easier to find.
Ken
I run a RC-2Q on my RD6, just be aware you need the correct impulse latches to suit that upside down location of the maggy.
Thank you for your replies
If your not worried about being historically correct go find a WICO mag and put on it, I went through this 30 plus years ago with the original mag on an RD6 finally got a Wico and put on it and my starting problems went away. In 1997 my Mag repair guy said if you want a new Wico they are available, I think it was 3 to 4 hundred at the time which I did Money well spent! I was still running that tractor and wanted it to start in the morning and not have to cuss it every morning !!! 17afarmer. Mike
Hello Mike, do you remember what model number was for the Wico mag? I have a prior owner modified eiseman on my 1940 D6 and have not stumbled across a good one and the Wico may be easier to find. Thanks, Mike
I guess that was an eiseman that I took off, the Wico was the standard what I call a base mount like all RDs used I don’t remember the number,, Wico is part of standard magneto now and I don’t know what they have now, I have a cousin that fixes and deals in Mags as kind of a hobby part of his shop I will ask and see what I can find out. Mike
I looked online and found a Wico that looks very close,it’s a base mount mag for an old John Deere D and a GP which was made about the same time as the RDs. Model XH1263 about $400. Hope this helps
