Ok, I need some more help, I'm working on a 1955 (tank stamp) Gardner Denver air compressor. The tags has this information;
Cat model 6S9497 power unit- Serial Number?
Model D8800 ?

This has a two cylinder pony motor also. What would be the date range for this 4 cylinder diesel? Thank you.
