Gotta love restorations that take the machine back to factory original, that D8K looks like it just came out of Peoria.
Gavin, the D8K is my little effort, a good few weeks work with everything sorted,I left the Rops off in the hope it might help Visitors to the Show try the Seat for size, this Tractor is being put ready for a few years Work ahead pulling a 463 that I am about to refurbish to as good as it gets, this Tractor has made plenty of Coins in its Day working mainly on a Private Land-Fill (Soil) Site with 3 other Tractors.

Thanks for the info TC, while some may think it a shame to put it back in the dirt i am sure that if it came up as good as it did after previously working and with good maintenance and operators that GAF it could be brought back to this condition again after it,s next stint and perhaps retired in the owners office foyer!! I just visited a customer the other day with a D8L fully restored and in his foyer, he even had all the original paperwork from the purchase through Waugh & Josephson, the Cat dealer at the time. Price was $324k.
Here are a few more interesting Cats,983 from the Davies collection,a nice D2 with an attachment and a D4C that was in the auction.
This three day event at Welland is a great show to visit. The combines are worked in to top field on the first day then the tractor boys are let loose with ploughs on the next two days.A cat 60 was also in attendance. The photo shows it at last years event rescuing an Allis, they also had an International Harvester last year playing in the field.

Atlas it was a good afternoon treat to see you at my local Show, I must say you looked as fit as the D8, I wish you had asked to go for a spin on the Old Banger, or was I' at fault not to offer you the Key???, anyhow Charles was very pleased to have met you and most happy with your kind offer to pop up to your Parish to see your Diamonds, it would seem I missed a lot of mates at this Show some how, things turned out well all ways for me through-out the 3 Days of the Show, I met and spoke to some good old Tractor and Box men and had them all laughing, plus helped plenty of Young and Old People to clamber up into the Pilot Seat and "Feel the CAT trough their Backside" I would have loved to have taken a few more unfortunate youngsters for a spin, but without a seat+ belt this was not to be.

That is really a teaser and a lot of work to make it that way. Those old Hs and Ks are the standard to be compared against for many old operators and it makes you proud to have known them for what they are. Thanks for the great effort and making it possible to share them with the world.Ron G
