They are all one piece cores with soldered tubes. If your cooling system pressure is gone then I would pull the whole assembly and take it in and have it cleaned and repaired. As long as the tubes are good they can repair it, it could also be a header gasket seeping.
Yea my cooling system pressure gauge is the one gauge that doesnt work?
What is the pressure suppouse to be and what is the MAX safe temperature on that engine.
Should be around 14 psi. replace the pressure valve on top also and make sure the housing is clean, allot of times wasps will plug things up in there. I put a small piece of stainless screen in the outlet hole to prevent that. Dont run it hot or close to the red!!! dont run over 200 degrees.
Ok ill check that and clean out my pressure valve. Makes me wonder if it was building up pressure and coming out a weep hole somewhere? and thats the leak im seeing.
Ill take the top cover off and inspect it. It got to 190 the other day and i let it cool a few minutes. But if its getting that hot it wont handle the 100deg texas heat. Which when it gets that hot i dont stay on them long. I try to do most of the hard work in the cooler weather.
Ten-4, if it hasnt been out and cleaned for several years then it might be due for cleaning. Also check the belts and pulleys for excessive wear.
Will do. I know it hasnt been out. I pressure washed it ALOT when i got it. But other than that thats all. It looks really pretty clean considering. If the leak is bad then i will pull it and have it fixed so it will be right. If its simple i plan to keep running it a while. This is a project that ive only had for about 6 months. It had been sitting for about 10 years.
I need to get some use out of it. But have no problem making something right whatever it takes. I dont half a$$ things..
