cat d6c 10k power shift

I am having a problem getting traction trying to dig out old pond. Soil is dry but lots of sand, My grouser height measures 1 1/2 inch. not sure if thats is my problem. Not sure what new shoe height should measure? Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Standard grouser height new is 2.38". Extreme service is 2.81"

I had the same trouble when I first got my dozer. I quickly learned that the d6c is not a heavy tractor and could not live up to my expectations, especially building roads with the blade angled. It would suck the tractor right into the hill so I started taking less of a bite and that worked wonders. It's a fast tractor so I just backed up more often. I still get the work done pretty fast and it's easier on the tractor. Try that and see if it helps.
