Good Evening, need help just bought this old dozer and need to know how long dip stick should be , the dip stick is broken and missing also would like to know what type oil to put in.

I'm wondering if the rest of the dipstick is still in there, potentially waiting to get caught up in the gears? Worth having a look I think.

Thank you so much I going to change it so then I will make a dipstick.
I think it will take 90 or 85-140 oil will have to check more infor. to be sure.

My manual say 44a transmission and final drive use SAE30 and in my d7-17a I use all time 80/90 oil gear

The dip stick doesn't go into the transmission. It goes into the bevel gear compartment that shares oil with the transmission.
