I was wondering if anybody here can help me.........I have a D4G with the 3046 engine, I know it's not an antique Cat, but I need the cylinder head tightening sequence and how many pounds to torque the bolts. I don't have a service manual, so I would appreciate any help......I'm losing antifreeze, but I can't find any leaks, so I really don't know what else to do. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Barry Franklin

Its a Perkins engine, you won't find an interchangeable parts list but the engine specs are the same if you can find the Perkins service manual..

I don't have the torque values either, but I think you'll have better luck with posting your problem on HEF:

They deal with more modern equipment on that site and there's a lot of good mechanics that frequent it as well.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
