Anyone have part numbers for the sealing rings on the 8F2656 piston in the hydraulic blade cylinders for this unit? Seems that a lot of parts for this old girl have been discontinued. Also the part number for the rod seal in the end of the end unit of the 5F9792 gland, preferably the newer style. On the piston rings for the hydraulic cylinder there are 6 rings to each piston, in three groups of two per piston. I don't know if these items are still available or not. Also the width of the grooves for the rings is required. Thanks in advance, Larry.

Are you going by part numbers or casting numbers?

This is what I show for the later cylinders.

Old Magnet, thanks for the info. Those are the cylinders. The sealing rings in mine are two per groove for a total of six per piston. I'm not too fond of that arrangement as I don't think that they seal too well. This and the fact that there was a large amount of mud in the cylinder probably accounts for the blade not staying up. The bore was not in the best shape either. However, I cleaned it up with a Sunnen cylinder hone and flushed it out with varsol. Here's hoping it helps. The previous owner's story of replacing the sealing rings does not hold up in view of what I found. Once again, Old Magnet, thanks for the info. Now I'll see if I can still get parts.Cheers, Larry.

Thanks Shovel man, I will be ordering the parts tomorrow. I was concerned that the old oil type seal was insufficient but if that 8C9133 is the new type I will be installing it.Cheers, Larry.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
