Picked up an older set of brake bands. Possibly D7 or so in size. Part number cast in the band that holds the anchor section is. 6B7245. Can anyone tell me what they fit?

The second band looks like it would also fit the same size machine. Has a different design anchor end with a part number of 4M8763.

Stupid me. I did not think to look in the library at the parts books. They match up with a D7-7M suffix. Thanks for looking anyway fellers n gals.

Thank you gemdozer. Looks like they have more than one machine that they interchange with.

I had a guy that worked on a lot of the 1940 to 1970 Cats tell me the steering clutches, brakes and hydraulic steering booster was the same on 3T D7 and the 4R,5R,8U,and 9U D6's. It has been 30+ years ago that he told me, so I could of mixed it up by now. As I have never looked into a 3T backend, I could be wrong again. But I think this is what Gem Dozer is saying as well.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
