I have some Cat items that I have collected though the years that I would consider to be advertising pieces. Thought I would share them.

The First is a Salt and Pepper Shaker. This is from Burtnett, a dealer that was in Hudson, New York in the 30's, 40's, and 50's.

The second is a clock. It is dated 1956. Still works and lights up. But I do not keep it plugged in. T. Southworth is still in business and our local dealer.

The third is a ruler. I have seen a few of these around.

Anyone have anymore to share? Dandy Dave!

I bet their phone number has changed although it would be cool if the last digits were still the same.

Nice items,I've been collecting Cat sales literature and other Cat items for about 35 years.Caterpillar over the years has produced more advertizing items then just about all of the rest of them combined.Guess thats what keep me collecting, knowing there is always something new out there.Keep collecting it a great hobby.Found most younger collectors are just collecting the tractors and not any of the other stuff.I do have have 6 old tractors that are restored but I'ld much rather collect the sales literature.Just my 2 cents worth.

I too have over 200 paper ads from the teens to 1930. Some in frames some in a file cabinet. Withthe family and kids now they have taken a back seat as well as my restorations.

Its been awhile since I have been into my ads (or even looked at), as the room I had the framed ones hung in has been converted to a kids play room for the 1 and 5 year old. But my favorites still have to be the HiTen and the one for the Ten telling how much work it can do and what it can pull/power. Quite interesting what a 15 horsepower tractor can do. Of course I keep trying to get the local lawn mower pulling group convinced (with no advail) that once I get the 10 running I should be able to pull in thier classes as it is within their Horse power range. Do not understand why they keep telling me NO. Someday when I get rich and get the new house built they will get a room to themselves (if I can convince the wife of that). Thanks for all replys.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
