The SN is 12a539
Uses a Cat #5H3422 pump which is a Vickers/Eaton #V400-28-23A11S55LH
After looking into it a little further, I found what appears to be a U-Joint that connects to motor to the hydraulic pump has broken. What’s the best way to access this joint to replace it?
Hi,
you can get to the U/J by removing the front belly plate-- the joint is right there to work on.
There is a removable front plate on the main frame that lets you get in and access the hyd. pump if needed.
Scans may help.

Hopefully the center section, yoke and flange are not destroyed and it's just the u-joints that need replacement.
Takes either 2 #UJ870 (outside lock ring type) or 2 #UJ861 (inside lock ring type) universal joints.
Why is it so hard for guest members to use some manners and say please and thankyou every now and then when expecting expert technical support free of charge from this Club, you can't get this info from your Cat Dealer that Old Magnet and EDB and other good members are uploading every day.
When someone does something for me for free I can't thank them enough, my new policy here is no please or thankyou from guest members, I'm not interested in trying to help. We are going broke and things need to change.
Thank you guys for your wealth of knowledge. As someone who doesn’t have a background in heavy equipment, you guys are a great resource.
Unfortunately one of the sides on the yoke is damaged. I’ll have to pull the belly pan and try to find a replacement yoke.
Thanks
