Got working on the 933, after getting a shop manual. )) Opened her bowels up and found the source of the problems was a stripped pinion shaft/gear. I noticed the pinion shaft wasnt exactly snug and there was play in the bearings, that cant be good, need new bearings. I found that the pinion shaft gear part is available, so Ill be ordering that along with two new bearings and two new UJoints. Thats the easy part. .

Problem is the reverse Idler gear with the two gears in one got beat up pretty bad, and that gear seems to be unobtanium. So Im hoping to find a source of a parts machine, or the gear itself. P/N 3K6414. . Any Help will be appreciated to get this girl back up to operating condition. Its Life is on my farm, so she will be her till I die.

Thanks!

Has anyone ever had a professional Machine shop make gear for a CAT? I figure with CNC machines they could make the shape exactly, but what about the materials used and then operating strength?
Really hoping to get this machine back in operating condition.

Yes there should be many places in the US that can make the gear for you. I have had a few made here in Australia with no problems. Just make sure you use a company that specialized in gear making as they have the equipment to heat treat the gear correctly. A machined gear that is not correctly heat treated will not last.

If Cat can't supply the part, they will provide you a copy of the blueprint of it, so get the correct part number and go to your local Cat Dealer and ask them to get you the blueprint, then find a reputable gear maker and spend some coin.

Ive Contacted Cat {Cleveland Brothers} and they cant get the blueprints. Im thinking when scrap was high alot of 933Hulks/transaxels got scrapped as nothing for this machine seems to be available by a majority of the parts dealers.

Did you try dismantled machines on www.machinerytrader.com?
The 3K6414 gear and 3K6481 Pinion shaft was used on s/n 42A2106-up.
Google search the 3K6481, looks like CTP has a repo at $254.87 or  Regal @ $158.08

Also there is an outfit called "Off Road Equipment" that's pretty good a finding obscure parts.
