I have a mid 60's cat 922B front end loader that is in need of some TLC, I have a few various leaks and issues that I need to fix but trying to find part #'s , procedures, and specs is proving difficult. I was wondering if anyone has an online downloadable service manual and parts manual. I had gotten them before from a member but they were lost when my computer decided to stop working. I am slightly weary about purchasing a downloadable version online as I have been screwed before, I paid a substantial fee and then was given a bad link to view and download it. If anyone can help me out or steer me in the right direction I would certainly appreciate it.

Hi, You don't say if it is a track (traxcavator) or wheel loader, Cat made both with the designation 922.
A serial number would be very useful as well.
We do have parts books for 922 traxcavators in the Members technical library (see below), but they are not available to download, you can however view them online and screen print individual pages to take into the workshop.

It is a 922B wheel loader and as far as the serial # I would have to get back to you on that.

Just for information, the 922 Traxcavator is a wheel type machine.

Thanks Josh, I had not appreciated that. The parts books in the library are for 922 Traxcavators serial numbers 59A1-UP, 63A1-UP and 94A1-3929.

I can't be 100% sure on the 922  but the 944's serial is on the right hand side of the machine on the main frame just under the main lift arm pivot pin and the engine serial number is on the oil cooler side of the engine near the fill point. If the engine is original then both serials should be the same.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
