is anybody got schematics on starter pinon ajustment the lever wont stay engaged by itself when i try to start big eng.

You can see the latch adjustment screw on the very end of the latches on the exposed pinion. You access this by removing a small cover over the pinion area on the clutch housing. Adjust each one a half turn at a time and keep them equal. You may find the whole thing's fallen off in there.😆
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

It's a 1949 #12 with the D318 engine and was rated @100 hp. The D4600 which preceeded it has the old tall injectors with a return/drip line manifolded along the tops of them all. Also the intake and exhaust manifolds are both on the right side of the D4600. D318 has the capsule injectors and a cross-flow head.

Almost 22,000 8T series graders were produced from 1947 until 1957 when it and the direct electric start version 80C's which started in 1955 were replaced by the 70D/71D series also with the D318.

i think i told every body my grader was a 8t but its a 7t2424 will a 8t eng. work in my 7t cat.I have a 8t to.

The 8t use a 318 motor and the 7t use a 4600 motor and yes he should fit in.
