I have a cat 40 gas. Cat ran the numbers and said that it was one of only 584 built. The transmission had a lot of water in it when I got it. I am open to advice on what to do with it and where I could get bearings etc... or would I be better to get a cat 40 diesel transmission to put in it or are they even the same. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I could direct you to a diesel 40 parts machine, its about 90% complete with a good UC located near Grand Rapids Michigan

Likely scrap price or close to it

I was told gearing would be different as engine RPM was different. But have known of the gas being replaced with diesel when still trying to get a full days work from them.

I'm from southwest MO so I would have to try to find something closer. Is my machine as rare as they say it is?
