I had a guy call me today with a narrow 30 for sale I went and looked at it and the spockets and chains look ilke new but are froze from sitting the engine is also stuck but it has a exast pipe that points down so no water could get in it. it ran when it was parked a few years back the clutch and sterring cultches feel good and it is complete and even has the original key in it? it was used to pull railroad car and still has the railroad tag on it. I was on the road when he called me so I didnt have a camera and I was 3 hours from home. how much is a machine like this worth? how much does it wiegh?
Hard to say about its value without seeing it, but it will tip the scales at 10,000 pounds so you could at least figure scrap value. They are not all that hard to get unstuck as you can gets each jug in a press and push the pistons out. It may also be just the water pump that is stuck so no heave hoeing on the crank as other stuff gets broke. The main thing is if the undercarriage is in good shape the rest is pretty easy to work on.
