Hi there,

Just wondering if someone out there can steer me in the the right direction to find the the timming marks on the flywheel on a t/s 30and where the aligning pointer/notch might be located.

The literiture I have shows a pic of a top seat with the inspection cover in the MIDDLE of the tranny hsg and it has a notch on the hsg which lines up with a mark on the flywheel.
On a t/s tranny hsg the inspection cover is offset to the right of centre and I don't seem to be able to see any "notch" or a mark on the flywheel to align with.
Any help would be much appreciated.

cheers djcat

hello DJ ,just a note about the flywheel , not sure if there all the same but the can be put on any position on the big end so the timing mark may not be in the right spot , double check No1 spark plug for ddc , ,Timing mark - it is only a thin mark on the flywheel so it maybe covered in rust ? and hard to see ,bruce oz

I usually put a wire with a slight bend in the number 1 spark plug hole and use that as a gage, seems like most of the machines I look at don't have the flywheel indexed right. You can also remove on of the big side covers and take a look.

If the flywheel is oily it is worth wiping it down to see if you can un cover a mark.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
