I have a Cat 30 that I had to replace the cam shaft but there is no marks on the crank gear to time the camshaft.

Can someone tell me how to set the cam.

Thanks Dennis Wilkinson

Hi Team,
scan below may help as it seems the early units had different exhaust timings. If your later unit has no marks then you could use this method of setting by valve closing timing as described,by cam lobe and flywheel positions..
Cheers,
