Did this Mag ever belong on a 30 ?,If so what serial no range, I know my early ps30 has the Bosch ZR4

That might be correct on the snow cruiser/ snow special so the side curtain would not need to be opened to set the impulse.

From the picture angle it looks more like an IHC mag to me.

While not quite, but it looks a lot like the one on our big 20, Missing the cover on the shaft end.

The mag in the picture is not original to the CAT 30. Starting with Serial number S-10048 and PS-10702 CAT went to a smaller mag bracket, like the one shown in Steve's picture. CAT eliminated the hood assembly so that the Eisemann GV-4 mag was exposed. Sometime before that CAT had gone to the GV-4 mag with a hood cover, which had a large bracket to accomodate the cover. Before that (a carry over from Best) the Bosch ZR-4 with a hood was used. The replacement mag from CAT for the 30 was the Eisemann CM-4 and CT-4. Frank

Unless Eismann made a mag that parts would interchange with an IH mag, that it is a an IH. In the second picture you can see the old IHC logo between the top two plug wires.
