Hi, I need to install the single head on a Cat 30. But, I can't find torque values and the bolt/nut tighten sequence. I have the Caterpillar Thirty factory reference manuals that follow: Parts, Service, Operator and Sales Brochure. Per the service manual, the head nuts are to be tightened with a wrench with sizes of 1 1/16" and 1 1/4" and is about 11 5/8 " long. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Dale Rainwater.

You really need to post the diameter of the bolts (studs) in it but if you have a torque sheet from a hardware store or bolt store that should be close enough I,d think. If you can,t get a sheet then post it here and we can give the spec for it.The proper way to torque any head is first torque to half the specs and then the second time around go to the full torque specs. and the third time around just check again with the correct specs. to make sure all are to the listed specs.

Hi SJ, I appreciate your response. The tractor is at the farm. I will get the bolt diameter tomorrow. Thank you, Dale
