New to this site, restoring a 1950 D2 4U with Cat 2A blade. I am missing one of the two hoses that connects the cylinder to the steel line from the pump. I need two flanges and sleeves to make up the hose. Called Cat dealer and they said they were discontinued. Tried many tractor scrap yards in my area no one has any. Anybody out there know where to get some?

Hey D23j227,

I didn't find any flanges. I used them previously. I do have a couple of male barbed fittings and exterior clamps. Come over Tuesday evening around 5:30-6pm. I sent you my address in a PM. Anyone is welcome to Cat Night. I'm going to haul Herb's D4 over. We are going to install a 24 volt one wire Alternator on it for his neice. Tractorboy1 is working on installing a seat box on his Cat 15. There is a Cat 28 we are working on also. Come by and we will explain how we convert to modern hoses if you wise. The Siemesse Twin D8 engines are there also. glen

Thanks for checking, I just might be there. I checked back in with Peterson and they found a conversion with crimped fittings. They are hoping the flanges they ordered will bolt up. Parts should be in on Tuesday $$$$

Is this the fitting you are looking for? This was from a late 5u with a toolbar blade.I only have this one not 2 .So if the ordered part doesn't work this one is available.

I think this is the same hose ends I have on my D6 I have bought hose and used the ends to make new ones .. I don't have any extra but should be common to lots of equipment ..

The cat dealer should have these as they were used on the earlier cat excavators, 225,235,245, and 215 as well as other machines built into the 1980's

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
