King, living way up there you need to have a Double Flaring Tool and a Bender. Then get a 25 foot roll of every size tube and matching flare nuts.

bob - the King is looking for a rubber hose .. a bender and a roll of Bundy tube ain't going to do him much good, there .. 😄

King - You wouldn't believe this .. but I haven't got anything as modern as a 99E parts catalog .. so I looked up the old 9K catalog .. got the P/N .. and then checked the NPR, just on a hunch that hose never changed in nearly 30 years .. and I was right!! ..

The hose P/N is 4B8761 .. and if you keep a spare on hand, it will fit nearly every rigid frame Cat grader built, that's fitted with brakes, from 1938 to the early 1970's .. 😮

KoO Well I searched that CAT number on the Napa web site and no good, but I did run it on the CAT part number search and crossed it over to a Napa number UP 4900 here is it's description.

Brake Hose End Type : 7/16" - 20 & 7/16" - 24 Internal.
Brake Hose Gasket Part # : 1243
Brake Hose Length : 17.688"
Caution Statement : Do Not Use w/ Petroleum-Based Fluids - Designed Only For Use w/ DOT Approved Silicone- Or Glycol-Based Brake Fluids.

Hope this helps. Here is a pic.

KoO I tried to cross both numbers that Gemdozer posted to Napa and both are no go, and they do not interchange to any other numbers on the Cat interchange.

Gemdozer - I'm not too sure on where you got those 2 P/No's from, Hector .. but the 4B8761 hose is listed in the Cat NPR, as fitting 12E graders 99E1 to 99E14170.

King - I'm pretty sure you'll be right with that NAPA hose that jmvmopar did a good job of finding.
I am still at a loss, at to where the other P/N hoses, that Hector found, fit.
I don't have any 99E parts books, not even on fiche, so I can't see what he has found.
They may have been some kind of hose variations that Cat tried sometime, to save a dollar .. but they then found they didn't work, and went back to the original.

thansk guys, since we had no phone for a week then we are in to the rain season here with lots of power spikes and outages, i have not been on line.

buddy barry hand delivered the brake hoses are bouncing over the so called road to the south in the pouring rain. i put them on and now i have to wait for the fitting for the new steel brake lines.
that is way buddy barry has a 3 bay shop that fits 8 items in so we can take one apart and then move on to the next one as we "wait" for the parts to come in. a big thansk to you guys on the internet because we are getting the correct parts instead of the wrong parts.
