I recently aquired a Caterpillar ten HC model and would like any info on this crawler, build dates, engine info, serial number info, specifications, manuals parts books, any info serial # PT-3826 I wanted this crawler since I was little and I finally bought it, it took 3 1/2 hours to get it out of where it was sitting, with bottle jacks and a tree grown into it. any information is appreciated also are these rare? thank you!

Welcome to the board and congrats on your new purchase. Where in PA are you located? Did the machine come from PA? I am from the philadelphia area and own two High Clearance tens myself. Another fellow has been keeping a registry of sorts for all of the caterpillar tens. A majority of the parts for a regular ten are interchangeable with the more common standard ten. If you are looking for parts, need addtional infromation, etc., drop me an email at [email protected] I also have a large supply of caterpillar ten parts and parts machines.

Hello I live in the phily region I'm located in pottstown. I bought the crawler out of Pottstown, Its got a story i'm sure it sat in the same spot for probably 50+ years. It took me a good afternoon to get it home, I saved it from scrap.the old man i got it from actually gave it away to a man to take for junk it was leaving monday but I showed up Saturday. I said " Sir I'd really like to have that, and I promise you it'll run I wouldn't junk such a piece of American History, I just couldn't. When I asked what he was paid for it he replied " huh, nothin hes just taking it" I just got paid and said "I'll give ya all I got in my pocket, slease don't junk it" I had 200 dollars, he took it with a smile and I thanked him endlessly. I'll keep your info I will need a radiator for sure and the engine is really hurting. I'll try and post pics, it's rough I know but I just like it. THANK YOU!!!! very much for your info I joined this site today and already love it. also i would like to see your crawlers, I love tracks.

On a deal like that you probably forgot the camera for taking pictures of its rescue?
Just remember to take a photo's now and then while working on it. That way if you get discouraged at some point you can look back at the photo's and remember how bad it was when you started!
