Hello everyone. I am currently rehabilitating a cat 10. getting the motor running was the easy part. the throwout bearing in the clutch mechanism had disintegrated. nothing left but a couple ball bearings on he floor of the bell housing and the tangled remnants of the cage.
Sasquatch's youtube video of the throwout bearing replacement has been very helpful. I have sourced most all the parts I need except the pilot bearing in the flywheel. It too was pretty crusty. My local bearing distributor was not able to find a suitable replacement. An oil bronze bushing has been suggested by the bearing salesman as well as my local machinist. Has anyone here either found a bearing or tried the oil bronze bushing idea?
thanks very much.

I would be fine with the bushing, it is only in motion when the clutch is open, should last a long time in a hobby machine.

The pilot bearing assembly in the flywheel, 1B3755 consists of a 1B3757 and the roller assembly 1B3756 which was used in the steering clutch of some later tractors and could be available.
The Hyatt numbers for the parts are:
1B3755, Hyatt #17059
1B3757, " #31262
1B3756 " #00531

Hi Steve,
I hadn't thought about that, the bearing is only active when the clutch is depressed. this tractor will never see the hard use it has had in it's younger days

Josh, thanks for those numbers The number on the outer race jives but the Hyatt number on my bearing is 7788. I'll go back to the bearing distributor with this new number and see where it leads
Thanks for the help.
