Stopped at Casa de Fruta near Hollister,Ca yesterday.I always have to walk the lane with all the old equipment.I always have a thousand questions as to what it is or what it was used for.So I thought I would ask here. What are the two pods for?Are they for steering? Plus what make and model tractor

Interesting tailseat Caterpillar with a dozer. Serial #40A1136

I’ve always wanted to stop there and gawk. Too busy trying to make miles instead. I wonder if they moved some items or sold some off? I’ll stop by there in a couple of weeks.
Whatever the cranks are, they look like good exercise!
Thank you for sharing Gary. JM

First crawler is a 12-20 IH tracTractor which became the T-20.I believe it was a conversion of the 12-20 wheel tractor. Those 'pods' are the steering clutches.Almost bought one once, wish I had, weren't a lot built.

Juiceman, you really need to schedule a stop there. There is hundreds of items to look at.Most of the tractors are in the back, but stuff lined up in front too.If you go on a weekend you can ride the train and see a lot of it

Gary: I’m gonna have to be sneaky and pretend I’m needing to use the facilities, or tell my lady friend that we’re are going antiquing.LOL. A perfect place to stop by on our way back from TractorDon’s! Thanks again.

Over by the campground there’s an old dirt scraper that could have been pulled by horses, about 1/2 a yard. Has a tag that says Miskin Scraper on it

That Tail Seat D4 with blade looks like it would be a real challenge to grade with. It does not look like you could see much of what you were doing sitting so far away and down so low. Why would you ever set one up like that? Besides the fact that if you weren't very good (like making fancy ripples), you could get a heck of a ride bouncing off that seat!

Been there many times but never spent time looking at anything except the men's room!
