Definitely a D6 (looks like an 8U/9U model??) with the hydraulic blade style hardnose. 1950's era is my guess.

One more question; What year was the last year for the Pony? (When did the D6 get electric start?)

Thanks again!

Pony was standard throughout production. Direct electric start was an available option starting in 1955.

Take a look at the left back side of the engine flywheel housing orientating from sitting on the seat. MY 1956 D6 9U has the drillings for the electric starter. Easy to add electric start as it is already set up. It will have a plate bolted over the starter hole.

that looks like an original caterpillar dust bowl on the pre cleaner. you might want to take that to keep someone from stealing it!
