Hi Robert,
your blade was built by Caterpillar and is both an Angle and Tilt unit.
Here Down-under in Australia they were built both by Steelweld and later by Caterpillar--by editing in your approximate location can sometimes get you more accurate data.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Thank you for the information..
I live in Utah.
The dozer spent most it's life on a ranch in Idaho. Then a guy bought a out four years ago and moved it to Utah. I bought it last year. Has been sitting for over thirty years I was told by the last owner. The front main bearing on the starting motor was bad. So I have a feeling that is why it set for all those years. The tracks are frozen.
Been told to put in water.and they should free up

Robert

I too have the same tilt /angle blade on my D4 7U 38348 and was wondering what the 'Model #' is. I have the 'Caterpillar no. 4A & No. 4S bulldozer manual' but that blade is not shown...only angle and straight blades.

That is the late style 6Fxxxx 4A blade for the 7U.
C-frame group 9F2349 for s/n 6F1342-up
Blade group 9F2348 for s/n 6F1001 to 6F7652 or 6F7654-up (there are two versions)
Brace group (push arms) 9F2346 for s/n 6F2777 to 6F8548 or 6F8549-up (there are two versions)
Tilt arrangement is by one clamping bolt that uses mating teeth for the manual adjustment (pain in the ass to adjust).

Pete, correct me if I'm wrong, but the blade pictured doesn't appear to use the mating teeth style adjustment (which my blade uses also) this one appears to clamp differently...appears to use a single clamp bolt that slides within a slot.

Yes, the inner and outer panel clamp together with the single bolt and square nut that moves in a slot. The teeth are there to help it hold position. You can just barely make out the top teeth in the picture.

In order to avoid the confusion of owning that blade ........... I just hate to see you suffer

I'll take it off your hands

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
