Frank Fox,
Advance adapters in Paso Robles used to market a conversion to put a small block Chevy in the back seat of a Corvair. I read an article in a hot rod magazine, written by a builder, and he loved to eat Corvettes with it. Of course the drawback to this horsepower was frequent replacement of the ring and pinion.
215's
One of my old high school/ college friends, used to build these engines for his father's hydroplane race boat, in the 170 ci class, (Ford Falcon) by sleeving the engine, and destroking the crank. 130-140mph was no problem.
Really could outperform the Fords. Had to design his own windage tray, to keep the oil from winding up wrapped around the crank.
