Just wanting to try out the image posting. . .
This D4 came home for some maintenance, and decided to increase the blade capacity a little bit using some old D4D fenders.
I always thought it a bit silly that the blade on the D4E is the same as what was available 40 years earlier on a 7j, even though the weight and horsepower nearly doubled.

nice work Glum....i'll admit i was i wasn't sure how that was gonna work out with the materials....but it looks good and will be fully functional..

-i think here in Canada, when the blade is raised in the middle like that, it's called "hi-capacity", maybe not anymore but at one time anyhows....

should work great!

Hi, Glum.
Lookin' good. The good ol' NO-shady-tree workshop to the rescue again. Can be helpful having 'spare parts' laying around from other machines of the same model. Is that what they sometimes call 'cannibalization'?

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Nice work Glum, looks like you have a bed for us if we come to visit, I see in the background a whole fleet of caravans waiting to be used.
All the best
Mike

Thanks guys.
I prefer these machines with an angle blade, modified to power tilt, but beggars can't be choosers. Looked at one with a PAT blade a while back but work is not exactly coming out of my ears so had to pass on it.

Ha Mike, after my operators have bachelored in those things I guarantee you do not want to be the next man living in there😀. They dont last too long being towed around on our non maintained rural roads so am always on the hunt for the next one.

WF, it does me more good for them to be out keeping the tracks shiny than sitting at home pulled to bits like the one next to it.
