The ground is way to soft for any kind of movement or operating. Where are all the crane mats? Use them for mobilization and operating platform. Somebody will be in the 'hot seat'..

The farmer had a series of videos on this incident showing a couple of attempts to extract the carbody. They eventually took all the counterweights and paraphernalia off it and walked it out by itself. Cause was a failure to adequately block the ground combined with attempting to move with the boom installed. Either of those moves would have likely avoided the issue but in saving money they cost themselves a lot more (presumably in increased insurance premiums too)

Hi, CHARLESCAT933F.
I would not like to bet that it was entirely the operator's fault. I have seen cases in the past where an operator said that he did not want to do something with his machine but was ordered to do it anyway and it ended in tears. I would not be surprised if this was another of those cases.

Case in point: the 'accident' with Big Blue at Milwaukee stadium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8kjDCn7y4E

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PRk_iKdiTA

I have had similar problems on a much lesser scale with foremen/supervisors pushing to get a job done. I've never been fired for it but have made myself a tad unpopular with said foremen/supervisors.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
